Arsenal debutants Gabriel and Willian steal the show as Gunners ease past Fulham on Premier League return with all the sensation photo of the game

Gabriel Magalhaes and Willian both had an Arsenal debut to remember as the Gunners welcomed Fulham to the Premier League with a 3-0 thumping.
The two debutants showed why the club went to such lengths to sign them by starring on the opening day of the new season.

Not only did Gabriel add instant assurance at the back, the £27million defender also scored his first Gunners goal.

Willian created it, along with both of his side’s other goals, which were scored by more familiar marksmen Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Lacazette opened the scoring, becoming the first man to net the first goal in separate Premier League campaigns, after Willian poked the ball against Fulham goalkeeper Marek Rodak.

The Brazilian, who joined on a free from Chelsea last month, then whipped in a perfect corner for Gabriel to force home with his shoulder at the start of the second-half.

Then Aubameayng, influential as ever throughout, rounded off a fearsome display with a stunning effort curled into the top corner after a pass from Willian.

In truth, Scott Parker’s side didn’t get near the visitors, who made a serious statement of intent after a busy summer in the market.

Three goals did not do their dominance justice, and while Fulham clearly have a job on their hands to survive, Arsenal might be getting ambitious at the other end of the table.

PICTURES: Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell join Chelsea training

Chelsea returned to training today (Wednesday) at Cobham, and there were two new faces joining the rest of the squad, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell. The two summer arrivals had yet to train with the squad since signing, dealing with quarantine (presumably) and heel injury issues, respectively.

It’s unclear if either will be fit and ready for this weekend’s match against Liverpool, but it’s still nice to see them in training with the rest of the group! (Those who played on Monday apparently had a lighter session, but were all out there nonetheless.)

There’s no word on how close Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic may be. Ziyech is probably still a couple weeks out with his knee problem, at least, but Pulisic was supposed to be close before suffering a potential setback with his hamstring late last week. Neither were pictured in training, and one would assume their presence would get emphasized had they been there.
