Arsenal youngster James Hillson has signed a contract extension with the club.
The 18-year-old joined the Gunners from Reading back in February and has provided competition for Under 18s goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo with Karl Hein out injured.
Hillson will look to become a mainstay in the youth set-up with Matt Macey likely to be released when his contract expires this summer.
“Delighted to announce that I have extended my contract with Arsenal, can’t wait to get back and continue my grind,” wrote Hillson on Instagram.
Bernd Leno has been one of Arsenal’s most improved players this season with a series of impressive performances behind the stick.
Argentine shot stopper Emi Martinez remains his deputy, with at least one of Okonkwo, Hein and Hillson expected to spend time on loan next campaign.
