The “Jet” is moving on with the Jets and he has left a sweet message for the team he spent four years with. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Aaron Rodgers’s trade to the Jets, the team is continuing to build on its offensive front. After trading Elijah Moore to the Cleveland Browns, the Jets have brought in ex-Kansas City Chiefs WR Hardman into its roster.
With the deal finalized between the Jets and the Chiefs, Hardman is ready to move on to his next destination to continue his journey in the NFL. The WR shared an emotional note on social media, bidding Chiefs fans farewell and applauding Patrick Mahomes and company for all the memories made. Here’s a look at what he said in the note.
In a heartfelt note shared online, Mecole Hardman thanked the Chiefs for giving him the opportunity to represent himself in the NFL. He stated that it was an honor for him to be a part of the team that won two Super Bowls in the period that he was with them. Hardman also thanked his teammates Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and others for guiding him to be the pro footballer that we recognize him as today. He further expressed his excitement to start his new journey with the Jets.
Hardman has moved on to the Jets with an average annual salary of $6.5 million. Apart from Hardman, the Jets have also signed Allen Lazard to a three-year deal in a bid to improve their capabilities of running fast offensive plays when required.
Being drafted as a 56 overall pick by the Chiefs in 2019, 25-year-old Hardman spent four years at the Chiefs kingdom. Mostly known for his speed, he missed more than half of last season, including Super Bowl LVII, because of a groin injury he suffered while on the field.
Will A-Rod be a part of this new Jets lineup?
While the Jets continue building on their offensive arsenal, their situation around negotiations with Aaron Rodgers still remains uncertain. A-Rod had expressed his intention of playing with the Jets next season. But the Packers and the Jets are not able to find a common ground for the trade to move forward.
While the A-Rod situation remains unclear, fans will be waiting for the Jets’ next move to build a Super Bowl contention-worthy team next season. With the signings of fast offensive players, maybe a deal with A-Rod might be in the mix in the coming days ahead.
