HOW TO OVERCOME THE SNARES OF THE DEVIL: THE WORD OF GOD

For every battle there is always a winner, because for every beginning there is always an end and for every end, a beginning. The end result of every battle is that someone must win and another lose and this battle between the Almighty God and the devil over your life is always for a better end and that is if you choose God because it is only with God you can have a good end that have no sorrow.

The battle is ranging, the weapon and strategy is in place but the determinant of the winner over your life is you. You are the one who will choose who leads you, who controls and determine your life; you are the one who have this wonderful choice to make. It is your choice if you are choosing a good end and a happy future or you choose a bad and sad end with a regretful future, it is your choice if you want a home in heaven or hell, it is your decision to choose either to carry and bear your heavy loads that will destroy you or cast your burden upon the Lord that has a easy load, it is your choice to decide who becomes your master.

IF YOU CHOOSE GOD

If you decided to choose God or you have been on the Lord’s side then good for you for making a great decision that will give you an happy ending but something needs to be put in place in your life so that the devil will not have a place to stay in your life.

YOU NEED A BURNING DESIRE: Like I said that every destiny begins with a thought, you need a burning desire for God, you need to declare right from your heart and mind that your life belongs only to God and no one or nothing else. You need to prepare your mind and decide to be on the Lord’s side and never to leave again. You need to position your mind for great repentance and confession of sin, you have to be determined that no matter the rain, the sun and storm you are remaining unshakable for God and with this burning desire you can reach any height with God on your side. You need a strong desire because what you don’t desire, you can’t have.

Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give you the desire of your heart. Psalm 37:4

What things so ever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them. Mark 11:24

When you have the burning desire and you choose God with a desire of final decision and no going back then you can take the next great step of confession.

CONFESS YOUR SINS

Romans 10:10 Makes it very clear that after a burning desire in your heart, then all you need to do is confess whom you have chosen.

“For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with mouth confession is made towards salvation.”

After a great desire in the heart then you need to take a bold step and announce to God and even the devil and people of the world that you have chosen God and not devil and denounce your partnership with the devil by confession all your sins. The sins with you are the property of the devil so give them back to the owner by confession your sins. Tell the Lord I have sinned, I have stolen, killed, fornicated and tell it all to God, all the sins you have committed tell him and he will forgive it all and devil will be disgraced because you make a great decision to follow God.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9

God is ready because he has been standing and knocking on the door of your heart so that you can let him in and since you have invited him in by confession your sins wholeheartedly and in totality then He is a faithful and kind God that will forgive you no matter what sins you committed.

Thanks to the merciful God that has forgiven you the totality of your sins and he has wash you clean with his pure blood but one thing you must not do again is going back to those sins. Never look back, it’s dangerous, never go back to your vomit, it stinks. Never take back those things you have left behind because it can destroy you.

NEVER LOOK BACK

This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reach forth unto those things which are before.

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus Philippians 3:13-14

Is a great thing that your sins are forgiven but never go back to them because it is more privileged for someone who has not known the truth at all, than for you to know the truth and backslid, for such backslider, great pain and suffering awaits him.

Nobody makes it great by living in the past, slave of the past are always miserable, never look back, never. The past is past, past is an obstacle for greater tomorrow, don’t go back to your past mistakes and don’t let them hurt or slow you down, instead do great things in God that is bigger and greater than your past.

Look only up to God and don’t let your past sins bring you down again, repent from your sins, forsake them, move forward, up and up to God and greater is your future. If you make that decision, good then you need a boost, you need to grow in the knowledge of God so that the devil will not draw you back.

FOR THOSE WHO ALREADY CHOSE GOD AND THE NEW COMER

There is great gain living in God and allowing Him to live in you because in Him, you can have a sorrow free life and be happy for the rest of your life; His plan for you is of good and not of evil to have a great end.

But now that you are in Him, you have things to do to remain in Him and that is why He is telling you that “he that thinks he stands, take heed let he falls”. He is asking you to take heed which means hold unto Him strongly, otherwise, you fall.

Hold unto God very strong; never leave him alone for a second because the enemy might take advantage of it. Look unto him alone and never be distracted and to hold unto Him, you need to do as He says, “watch and pray because your enemy is as a roaring lion, moving about, looking for who to devour”.

WATCH

Watch means always be careful of what you do, who you move with, your friends and family, the clothes you wear, food and drinks you take and place you go to because the devil might use that to capture you or use it against you.

A brother moving with a drunkard might become one soon and if he does not, he might be leading many people to hell by his lifestyle unknowingly. A sister wearing exposed and indecent clothes might get brothers tempted into sin or might be raped and ruined by it. Be wiser than the devil, I admonish.

HOW TO WATCH

Read the Bible always: Joshua 1:8 “this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but meditate therein day and night, that thou may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shall make thy way prosperous, and then thou shall have good success”.

Read and do what the Bible commands you to do and don’t do what he forbids you from doing then you will have a good success and happy ending. Let the word of God be part of you day and night and you shall have good success and you will always be on the Lord’s side because you will be wiser and smarter than the devil. A word is enough for the wise. Psalm 119:105 Makes it known to us that only the word of God can guide your footstep to the right path in life to acquire good success.

Guide yourself with the Book of the Law which is the Bible, don’t let it depart from your mouth, hold it, read it, meditate on it and he will be part of you and with that you will have a word for every weapon the devil wants to use against you. The word of God prepares you to be ready and watchful of the devices the devil may intend to deploy against you.

PRAY

Prayer is the only thing the devil cannot do. The devil can sing, quote the scriptures and as a matter of fact he is good at that but he cannot pray because he is praying to no one but for you. You are at an advantage when you are praying and talking to the Supreme Being and that gives you power above sin and his agent.

Mattew 11:12 says “And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men takes it by force”.

The world is a battle field against the devil and the only weapon that can overcome him is prayer. So pray relentlessly and never give up praying because as you pray you take it another level of battle. You unfold great weapons via prayer until you get to the top and even at the top, the devil wants to bring you down but only payer sustains you. Be wise!

The battle we are fighting is not against flesh and blood, it’s against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness in high place and the weapon God has given you against this is the power of His word and your prayers, and this two when properly in place then you become unstoppable.

With the word of God you strength your prayers and when you ask in prayer back with the word of God and in accordance to his direction then you will surely get your answer.

ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO LEAD AND YOU FOLLOW

The Holy Spirit is the comforter and the leader that God sent after Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and he has been helping and leading those who follow his directions in the right way and he has never let them down. Even when human understanding said the Holy Spirit is wrong, he is always right.

If you don’t have the Spirit in you yet then ask in prayer and when you have, don’t spend it away in ignorance of not allowing him to lead because he is the only one that can lead you to pray right, lead you to your purpose and fulfillment and lead you to great end. Follow him and he will lead you right.

ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE

Only a foolish man thinks he is always right in his own ways but the wise acquire knowledge, they never claimed to be master of all. Proverbs 1:5 says “A wise man will hear, and will increase in learning; and a man understanding shall attain unto wise counsels”. Verse 7 says “The fear of God is the beginning of knowledge; but the foolish despise wisdom and instructions”

Read inspirational and motivational books, attend seminars, take advice and counsels from people who have gone and coming after you and with that you can help your life reach the great height of fulfillment.

Having a godly mentor and role model is not a bad idea because they point you to the easy way to climb the ladder without falling because they have been there and that makes you avoid their mistakes.

But when choosing mentorship or a leader to guide you through the journey of life then you must realize that not everybody ahead of you is a mentor or a leader, some attain the height you see through the wrong road and they have succeeded in leading many youths who look up to them astray. Not everyone around you is good for you and not every elderly counsel is good, so choose wisely, choose smartly.

HOW TO CHOOSE SMARTLY AND WISELY

Study the alternatives: Sometimes we have more than one or two you are looking up to and sometimes, in rear cases, there is just one but no matter what, study who to mentoring you, try to know his attitude, way of life, what he does and what he don’t.

What I am saying is know if he is God fearing and has the good knowledge to put you through, know if he is willing to lead you aright.

Choose with care: Be careful how you choose, don’t be desperate to have a mentor, know who you are choosing and when you finally make your choice, be careful with the counsel.

Not every advice is good for you; advice will come, pick what is right and good for you, use them and move on. Be wise.

ASSOCIATE AND DISASSOCIATE YOURSELF

Evil communication and association destroy good manners and they push out the Spirit of God in us. So disassociate yourself from anybody that is not of God in your life no matter the relationship, because no connection can be between the good and bad; be wise. Some of this bad companies and friends subtract from you by taking away the fear of God and making you do ungodly things; they also divided you by leading you astray.

Move with people that could make you grow and add to you positively, people that can add to your knowledge and give you more of words of wisdom that will lead you to the path of greatness, people that are godly and could make you grow more and more spiritually and with that you are ending towards an happy and fulfilled life.

The greatest of all, find a living and Bible believing church to worship with because you must not forsake the body of Christ and there you can grow in all areas and it leads you to good success. A living church will help you.

No matter how much you read and learn on your own, you cannot know it all, because you only know what is available for you to learn but others have seen beyond what you have seen and are seeing. Learn from others, worship in a living church, not because you don’t know the word of God but because God commanded it. God commanded it because He wants you to never to forsake the congregation of his people, so that you can help them and they can help you because that is your spiritual family.
