Manchester United fans have demanded that Paul Pogba returns to the starting XI for Wednesday’s game against Sheffield United.

The Blades are a top four rival for United following their excellent debut season back in the Premier League, currently sat just two points behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men.

United played their first competitive game since the postponement of the football season last Friday, drawing against Tottenham which allowed Chelsea to strengthen their grip on the final Champions League spot.

Chelsea’s win adds even more importance to the Sheffield United fixture and fans are desperate to see Pogba start.

The Frenchman was on the bench against Spurs but completely changed the game following his introduction, winning the penalty which Bruno Fernandes dispatched to earn United a point.

MEN Sport asked United fans on Twitter whether the World Cup winner should start against the Blades and the results were undeniable.

97.3 per cent of the 5,298 respondents believe Pogba should play from the off against Chris Wilder’s men.

Just, 2.7 per cent of respondents believe United should utilise their other midfield options.

Former United defender Gary Neville reckons Pogba will get the nod to start alongside Bruno Fernandes for the first time.

He told Sky Sports: “Now, I feel there’s a better chance of that team really succeeding, and I think they’ll play at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, and there won’t be any doubt that he’ll play with Bruno Fernandes.

“I know Jamie Carragher doesn’t believe they’ll be that exciting together, I do think they can be.”
