Odion Ighalo has once again proven that he is ready to soar this season in the Premier League after scoring brace in Manchester United intra-squad friendly encounter at Old Trafford.

Ole Solskjaer and his wards have been preparing for the resumption of the season with their next game against Tottenham being handled by former Red Devils’ manager Jose Mourinho. On Saturday, June 7, Manchester United manager Ole Solskjaer decided to divide the team into two where they faced in what was a thrilling friendly game.

Due to the current issue affecting the world, the friendly match was played behind closed doors in which the likes of Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Ighalo and Matic were all in one team.

Bruno Fernandes and Daniel James scored once each, while Luke Shaw netted brace in the friendly encounter. On the other hand, Odion Ighalo and Marcus Rahford both scored two goals each for the match to end 4-4.

“There have been a lot of different things circulating on social media and I’m happy to set the record straight: it did end 4-4 and I did score twice. ”Also on my team, Bruno Fernandes got one and Jamo Daniel James got one, while on the other team, Marcus Rashford got two and so did Odion Ighalo,” Shaw told MUTV.

Manchester United are fighting to finish among the top four this season so as to play in the Champions League next term.

Earlier, Paul Scholes stated emphatically that Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo has silenced his doubters after his impressive games at Old Trafford.

Paul Scholes was among the critics who attacked the transfer of Odion Ighalo to Manchester United with the thought that the Nigerian would flop.

But Odion Ighalo proved Scholes and others wrong that he is a good scorer netting four goals for Manchester United after eight games before the League was suspended. Premier League season will resume later this month in which Manchester United players and other clubs are preparing for their games.

Although, Odion Ighalo is yet to score a Premier League goal for Manchester United even as he is optimistic of netting.

PICTURES: Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell join Chelsea training

Chelsea returned to training today (Wednesday) at Cobham, and there were two new faces joining the rest of the squad, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell. The two summer arrivals had yet to train with the squad since signing, dealing with quarantine (presumably) and heel injury issues, respectively.

It’s unclear if either will be fit and ready for this weekend’s match against Liverpool, but it’s still nice to see them in training with the rest of the group! (Those who played on Monday apparently had a lighter session, but were all out there nonetheless.)

There’s no word on how close Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic may be. Ziyech is probably still a couple weeks out with his knee problem, at least, but Pulisic was supposed to be close before suffering a potential setback with his hamstring late last week. Neither were pictured in training, and one would assume their presence would get emphasized had they been there.
