Pablo Mari has broken his silence on Twitter since joining Arsenal on a permanent basis.
The Gunners confirmed on Tuesday that they had signed the Spanish centre-back from Flamengo.
Mari, who cost Arsenal a reported £14 million, originally signed for the North Londoners on a half-season loan in January, but it’s been converted into a long-term deal now.
It’s a divisive move by the Emirates Stadium club by virtue of the fact that the 26-year-old suffered ankle ligament damage in last week’s 3-0 defeat by Manchester City.
Mari will be out for the foreseeable future, but here’s how the Spaniard reacted to messages of support on Twitter – and how Arsenal fans responded to that post:
Thank you everyone for your messages and support. I'll work hard to come back stronger and keep fighting for this club in the upcoming seasons! ??❤️ @Arsenal #Arsenal #COYG pic.twitter.com/6l6C5p9tNm
