According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is now ready to sell midfielder Matteo Guendouzi following his recent antics.
Guendouzi was in the headlines over the weekend having grabbed Neal Maupay by the throat in Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion.
It’s claimed that Guendouzi taunted Brighton players about the disparity in their wages, and Arteta may now see that as the final straw.
The report claims that Arteta is ready to sell Guendouzi this summer if offers come in, with his training ground demeanour also an issue.
It’s stated that Arteta watched back training footage and saw Guendouzi dancing and joking around when Arteta’s back was turned, at a time when the Arsenal boss wanted full focus.
Arteta seemingly believes that he just can’t trust Guendouzi, whether it comes to being focused in training or responsible on the pitch.
The French talent undoubtedly has huge potential, but Arteta needs to be able to trust him in order to make him a key part of his Arsenal team.
At 21, Guendouzi will likely receive plenty of interest if he is available. If this report is true, Arsenal could raise funds for signings by offloading Guendouzi.
