Kai Havertz is a player many Arsenal supporters are keen on.
The Bayer Leverkusen ace was linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium when there was talk of club’s former head of recruitment Sven Mislintat looking to secure a deal for the 20-year-old.
With an impressive tally of 12 goals and eight assists in 35 appearances across all competitions this season, Havertz would certainly be an ideal signing for the Gunners and Mikel Arteta.
Although, the north London outfit would likely face strong competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool as well as a number of Europe’s top clubs – most notably the reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
But they’ve been urged by Bild reporter Christian Falk to make a move this summer.
“According to my information, Bayern is still the number one option for Havertz,” he said. “Bayern and Leverkusen are still in close contact, the bosses Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Rudi Voller are old friends.
“It is not certain whether the transfer will happen this summer.
“The corona crisis makes such expensive transfers difficult. Leverkusen wants over 100 million Euros for the player. But Havertz wants to change this summer.
“If Bayern does not get serious, Liverpool will have a great chance.
“But the question is also for the Reds: Does the club want to pay such a high transfer fee for a German talent? I honestly can’t imagine it.
“Arsenal should also be interested. Arsenal would need Havertz more urgently than Liverpool, perhaps the Gunners pay this crazy price.”
And it would appear that many Arsenal fans agree.
After watching Havertz score a first-half brace for Leverkusen in their Bundesliga clash against Werder Bremen on Monday night, many took to Twitter and sent a transfer message to the club’s head of football Raul Sanllehi.
